About the Cashel Conference
The tenth international conference on compassion titled 'Sharing Compassion; International Collaboration Fostering Hope in Clinical Practice' which is hosted by St. Patrick's Hospital, Cashel will take place in the Brú Ború Cultural and Heritage Center, Cashel, Co. Tipperary on Monday 5th November, 2018 from 9am to 5pm. The focus of the event is compassion in our healthcare system.
There is a very inspiring panel of speakers presenting at this year's conference with representation from USA, England, Scotland and Ireland.
They all come from diverse roles and health care systems but share a common devotion to understanding the complexity of the work environment and to engaging with others to deliver high-quality, safe, and compassionate care.
Compassion is not just an emotion but a firm commitment founded on reason, connecting care and efficiency. The context of this conference is to look at how we keep compassion at the heart of healthcare and advocate mutual respect and understanding of one another in the delivery of care.
The conference will seek to explore ways in which we can enable and nourish such motivation and inspiration through a reconnection with the core values of those most affected; the patients, the communities from which they come and those who work at the coalface of healthcare provision, all of which coalesce around the values of compassion.
The venue for the conference is the Brú Ború Cultural and Heritage Center which is located beside the world renowned Rock of Cashel.
We hope this will be a special and uplifting day both personally and professionally for all present.
